CarrierIQ – Tracking software potentially on over 140 million handsets

A Connecticut man, Trevor Ekhart, recently created a video showing how a difficult to identify piece of software called CarrierIQ, may be monitoring and recording every keystroke on these hand set devices.  See his video HERE.

According to Paul Ohm, a former Justice Department prosecutor and law professor at the University of Colorado Law School, said if this is in fact the case there could be grounds for a class action lawsuit as it would violate federal wiretapping law.

If that comes to pass there will be multiple, extremely expensive, lawsuits in the near future – stay tuned.
