Domestic wireless devices outnumber the population of America

According to CTIA, there are now 328 million wireless subscriber connections compared to a 316 million population.

Now that does not mean that 2 year old Timmy has his own plan but it does show how hooked we all are on wireless technology from phones, all the “i” products and other neat readers, notebooks, tablets, etc.

With all of these devices comes content and wireless network traffic has jumped from 161.5 billion megabytes last year to 341.2 billion MB this year, a 111% growth!

That content growth is estimated to increase by 50 fold in the next 5 years. Allocating more wireless spectrum has been an ongoing battle and nothing indicates that demand will subside.
