Google “Offline Gmail”

Google “Offline Gmail”

Gmail has been widely adopted by consumers and commercial accounts as either a free or low cost solution to email.  The current service has been totally cloud based, meaning all your emails reside on a server and not on your local
computer.

With a new app plug-in you can now synchronize your online emails with local storage. That allows you to have full access to historical emails even when you do not have an internet connection.

Google is also starting to unveil a similar tool for Google Docs that will also provide local and cloud based storage so all your documents are stored locally for easy access.  This will be a real competitor to Microsoft’s Office 365 cloud solution as these two heavy weights battle for the end users data and market share.
