Google offering Office alternative in the cloud

Business productivity tools have long been dominated by Microsoft with their Office suite of applications. These products are used by over 750 million users worldwide and have become the de-facto standard for most users.

Google sees huge opportunities to convert these users and data to cloud based solutions that free people from their local computer and enable global access and collaboration on company documents.

Called Cloud Connect, the new service will upload files to Google servers allowing users to access documents from any internet connected device.
